Alloy 800 is a variation of Inconel superalloys. These are super austenitic stainless steel materials. There are silicon, molybdenum, copper, nitrogen and other elements in addition to the chromium, nickel iron base of the alloy. They are very much corrosion resistant under various environments and exhibit high strength under high temperatures. The Incoloy 800H has 0.2% titanium in its composition and is used in specific applications. The applications include heat exchangers, process piping, furnace components, electric range heating element sheathing and ammonia effluent coolers. The Alloy 800H is also used in extruded tubing in ethylene furnaces and in steam methane forming furnaces. The Incoloy 800HT contains 0.5% titanium in the composition. As a result, the Alloy 800HT has higher creep resistance and strength than the 800H. The Incoloy 800 chemical composition makes it oxidation resistant and carburization resistant under high temperatures. The alloy can be exposed to high temperatures for long time without compromising the austenitic properties of the materials. The Inconel 800 heating element is made up of this alloy and can last longer. The material is used to produce accessories in heat exchangers, carburizing equipment, heating elements and sheathing. The use of the alloy in nuclear steam generator tubing is also common. The Incoloy 800 density is around 7.94 grams per cubic centimeter. Alloy 718 is a member of Inconel alloys which are chromium nickel superalloys. These are a family of superalloys that are resistant to most acid and dry gases at room temperature. The alloys perform well under very high temperatures are and corrosion resistant. They are resistant inside and outside water. Therefore most of these alloys could be used in sea water and marine environments. The Inconel 718 UNS N07718 has excellent tensile strength and impact strength. Therefore it could be used in applications that require strength and corrosion resistant. The alloy is designated by the standard DIN 2.4668. The material composition includes carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and silicon in addition to nickel and chromium. This is a low carbon version of the alloys with the allowed maximum carbon content is up to 0.08% of the composition. The corrosion resistance is improved by the addition of 1% cobolt in the composition. Alloy 825 is a highly corrosion resistant superalloy of chromium and nickel. The alloy has a stable microstructure that has enough nickel to resist chloride ion corrosion cracking. Resistance against acids and inducing agents are brought about by the addition of copper and molybdenum in the composition. The Incoloy 825 UNS N08825 is also resistant to oxidation, nitrates and oxidizing salts because of the addition of the chromium content. The alloy could be welded and heated in the critical sinsitisation temperature range of 650 degrees to 760 degrees Celsius without forming intergranular precipitation. This is possible because of the stabilization by the addition of titanium into the composition.
